Dudley Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback

From Everything.Sucks

Dudley Zoological Gardens is a 40-acre (16 ha) zoo located within the grounds of Dudley Castle in the town of Dudley, in the Black Country region of the West Midlands, England. The Zoo opened to the public on 18 May 1937. It contains 12 modernist animal enclosures and other buildings designed by the architect Berthold Lubetkin and the Tecton Group. The zoo went into receivership in 1977 and was purchased by Dudley Metropolitan Council. Dudley Zoo is now operated by Dudley and West Midlands Zoological Society, founded in 1978 and a registered charity. The gardens also host multiple events.

A user of TRIP ADVISOR called Cutters-choice from Ashbourne wrote a review about Dudley Zoo: I Had never been to Dudley zoo before... I wish I had read the comments on it first, as I would have decided to go elsewhere for a first date?...the animal enclosure's left a lot to be desired, the little black bear in its pit...the two lions also in a pit with a dilapidated overhang of a building which should have been demolished some twenty years ago, all the animal enclosures where dated and far too small with nothing for the animals to do to stimulate them,...although on arriving at the oranges in which there were three one of them had a rock in his hand and was knocking on a dilapidated brick with it which amused me as I thought well that says it all sweetheart... Escape from Alcatrass..!! the Zoo also on a minus for ease of access ....not disabled friendly, also my date had to help in lifting a women's pushchair over a wooden turn-style situated in the zoo as unable to go around it, ... pushchairs also wheelchair users would not have been able to go and see the Lemurs in there encloser due to two gates to go through also on the inside again not user friendly for these people, and that was the best bit of the whole Zoo, I'm afraid this zoo is in need of millions to bring it up to scratch to any other zoo I've ever been to and its a shame, my heart went out to the poor animals who would have been better off elsewhere, ..... it's also not cheap £10.90 Per adult or £11.90 With a pound donation .. I paid £23.80 the pounds donated to where I do not know??... I felt ripped off to see what I had to see and Thanks Dudley Zoo for I should have felt happy on visiting...BUT you made me feel depressed, unhappy,
